Ted was born in Anniston Alabama, ironically named the most toxic town in the U.S. He studied philosophy, psychology, Ethics and Theology for a few years in college and has remained an avid reader. He is for the most part self taught in his many fields of interest. He is practiced and has excelled in many outdoor skills and is a self taught interpretive naturalist. He retired from the world at age 20, has traveled extensively and has studied under many now deceased spiritual masters of all faiths . In the 80's he was struck with an intense devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and as a non-Catholic claims to have found the pinnacle of meaning in his love for Her.

This web page ushers in a new phase for The Stone Camp, an entering into unknown territories. We suspect all that has been previously informal may need to adopt a shade more formality in order to further maintain The Stone Camps' self sustainability. We welcome your correspondence and any show of interest. We will do our best to answer questions, humble ourselves if our statement of facts stands in need of correction, but we will not waste our time battling opinions. As they say; Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one and they almost always form in the absence of fact. The opinions stated in Off On Our Own are indeed personal opinion, but only after weighing a bulk of facts that formed in the light and experience of both sides of an issue. For instance my belief that "No man has the right to cut a healthy and vital tree" is not armchair speculation. It is formed in light of my having worked for helicopter loggers, high lead loggers, The US Forest Service, 5 generations of having worked in the woods and the fact I'm still the sawyer on the family's sawmill.
